This is the 2nd B-side from my debut album "Hard Feelings". I wrote this song a few years back but it was recently re-recorded with the help of some wonderful friends.
The song is about my hometown and how sometimes when you visit the place you grew up, you think back to that urgency of youth -- that excitement and energy of being young and exploring summer with friends, and exploring life in general. That exciting unknown of growing up and the experiences along the way.
I wanted to release it now because Summer is upon us and many of you may be headed back home for a visit or for a few months. I hope you enjoy the song and feel free to share with friends!

lyrics
as the afternoon got tired, the sun collapsed
i watched its body break across your windshield glass
it made me miss the night and everything she told me
and back when the full moon didn't look so lonely
and we'd race to the shadows of this small town
in a basement, a backseat, we can't be found
we'd cover the tracks left on the ground
so they won't find us
when we'd race to the shadows of this small town
we'd speak in tongues without a sound
we'd cover the tracks left on the ground
so they won't find us out
echoes of youth still linger on every block
our laughter still resounding in empty parking lots
and i swear these streets hum
with an urgency that's all their own
and they leave me wanting that feeling
that i used to know
when we'd race to the shadows of this small town
in a basement, a backseat, we can't be found
we'd cover the tracks left on the ground
so they won't find us
when we'd race to the shadows of this small town
we'd speak in tongues without a sound
we'd cover the tracks left on the ground
so they won't find us
so they can't find us
so they won't find us out
